Every festival in the region is related to religion. The most famous festivals are usually celebrated in summer after people are free from their occupations in agriculture. Among those are, Novitiation ceremony, Lighting ceremony in Thidinnkyut (October), Rocket releasing in June, National day on the full moon day of Thabaung (March). Each of these festivals is celebrated for at least 3 days.
The Kakku Pagoda Festival is held twice a year: on the full moon day of Tazaungmone (November) and the other time on the full moon day of Tabaung (March) when thousands of Pa-O camp out for three days to celebrate their holiest festival of the year.
